Poetry is the highest form of art. In the construction of which different elements seem to be working; But these elements are interconnected in such a subtle way that to separate them would be to dull its aesthetic life. Poetry is based on imagination, the higher the flight of the poet's thoughts and the more exaggeration in the essay, the more beautiful the poem will be. Akhtar Sheerani (1905- 1948) was a famous urdu writer and a romantic poet, nick named "Poet of Romance (Shaair-e-Roomaan)". He published many poetry collections, as well as dramas and fiction. He used name of Salma as his beloved in his poetry, many believed that she was real. The present book is a book of poetry that includes ghazals, rubaiat and few lyrical poems. This book "Tuyoor-e-Aawara (Stray Birds)" is compiled by Fatehuddin Basheer and Aijaz Ubaid.
ادب کی اصناف مین شاعری فن کی اعلیٰ ترین شکل ہے، جس کی تعمیر میں مختلف عناصر کا حصہ ہوتا ہے۔ لیکن یہ عناصر آپس میں اتنے لطیف طریقے سے مربوط ہوتے ہیں کہ ان کو علیحدہ کرنا فن کی جمالیاتی حیات کو محدود کرنے کے مترادف ہے۔ شاعری کی بنیاد تخیل پر ہوتی ہے، شاعر کے خیالات کی پرواز جتنی زیادہ ہوگی اور شعریت میں جتنا زیادہ مبالغہ ہوگا، کلام اتنا ہی خوبصورت مانا جائے گا۔ اختر شیرانی (1905-1948) اردو کے ایک مشہور ادیب اور رومانوی شاعر تھے، جن کا لقب "شاعرِ رومان" تھا۔ ان کے متعدد شعری مجموعے اشاعت پذیر ہو چکے ہیں، ساتھ ہی ڈراموں اور افسانوں کے مجموعے بھی۔ انہوں نے اپنی شاعری میں ایک نام سلمیٰ اپنی محبوبہ کے طور پر استعمال کیا، اور اکثر قارئین کا گمان تھا کہ وہ کوئی حقیقی شخصیت ہے۔ پیش نظر کتاب میں اختر شیرانی کا منتخب کلام، یعنی غزلیں، نظمیں، گیت اور کچھ رباعیات شامل ہیں۔ یہ کتاب فاتح الدین بشیر اور اعجاز عبید نے مرتب کی ہے۔
